About

A tip of the cap and welcome aboard Wings and Wealth — I’m Rob Eklund.

About Wings and Wealth

I founded Wings and Wealth to simplify how people think about money and wealth — distilling timeless lessons into clear, relatable ideas. My goal is to make financial understanding accessible to anyone, whether you’re in a cockpit, a classroom, or a corner office.

We all navigate money differently, and there’s a reason personal finance is called personal. But no one hands us a flight manual for it. The market can feel like flying through turbulence — some parts are predictable, others aren’t. Knowing how to handle the unpredictable helps you stay calm, confident, and on course.

That’s where Wings and Wealth comes in. This isn’t about forecasts or opinions — it’s about understanding the principles that help people make better decisions. The aviation theme isn’t about being a pilot; it’s about bringing clarity, preparation, and calm to the complex world of money and wealth.

Whether the skies are smooth or bumpy, the core lessons remain the same:

  • Have a plan before takeoff

  • Stay calm when the air gets rough

  • Ignore the noise and trust your process

About Me

I’m a major airline captain, Air Force veteran, and former wealth manager who’s passionate about airplanes and how money works. Over the years, I’ve helped people plan, save, invest, and live — not always in that order, but always with their best interests in mind.

The Air Force taught me leadership, risk management, and the power of preparation. Aviation taught me humility. And growing up the son of two teachers taught me that knowledge means little unless it’s shared. That belief is what drives Wings and Wealth: making sense of money so more people can reach their goals without the confusion or noise.

Home base is Colorado, where my wife and I are adjusting to life with our son in college — and managing our fifth-generation family ranch. Ranch life keeps me grounded. Nothing checks your ego quite like a cow that ignores your PowerPoint.

The Flight Plan

Keep it as simple as possible. Stick to truth. Control the controllables. Distill the wisdom passed down from the giants who came before — in life, money, and wealth.

If one post helps someone avoid a financial nosedive — or just makes them smile at the beauty of compound interest — mission accomplished.
